Soaking up Some North Carolina Sun!
Settling into Summer
As we settle into summer, I hope everyone’s able to enjoy the long, sunny days. Our family’s sure soaking up the sun. I cannot recall the last time we have been gone two Sundays in a row! However, all the reports I have received is that Highland’s services have been rooted in the strength and grace of our Lord.
We are continually resonating with this truth Paul writes: “"We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater.” (2nd Thessalonians 1:3, NASB).
While I would never make missing multiple weeks a practice, this is actually a mark of our maturity, Highland. May our roots continue to grow deeper, as our love for the Lord and for each other abounds! To those who served in any and every capacity, thank you! Thank you for all you do! The health of Highland would not be possible without you.

This Sunday and into the summer
This Sunday, we return to our series through Matthew. We will pick up at the tail end of chapter seven, then segway into chapter eight. Furthermore, we slide into July very soon; this is the last Sunday of June, actually. July abounds with church-wide jubilation! Here’s a brief overview:
July 6: includes a profession for Christ and a baptism.
July 13: we will welcome churches who are joining us for Summer Missions! They will be participating in our service.
July 20: We hold the Lord’s Supper & Agape Feast
sunday school resumes in august
As August will be here before we know it, we will begin our Sunday School Semester. Classes will be held Sunday mornings, at 9am. Be prepared to jump into serving together, studying together and being together, Highland. It’s up to us to nourish our root system; let’s use the Word of God to do so.

The Highland Cafe’ continues to open wide our doors with a welcome from Jesus Christ and a warm cup of coffee. Each weekday morning from 8:30-11:30 offers you the chance to come and serve our neighbors, in honor of our Lord. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee, too! Come, serve and be served, all, in the name of Christ Jesus. Furthermore, snacks and coffee essentials, like cream and sugar, would be most appreciated.
